Long Morning

The day started out really nice. The boys slept until 6:30 and they woke up talking to each other as I had LIly downstairs with me. MIchael was coming home tonight after being away for 3 days. Breakfast went well. We decided to stay home this morning and Lily took a nap. Oliver, Harrison and I decided to make some rice krispie treats, which went over really well. I had 2 GREAT helpers. LIly awakens so the 3 of us go up to get her and I decide to get dressed.

The boys LOVE to hide under the covers in our room together or individually. They are under the covers and I pretend to be looking for them and I start to get dressed when Oliver falls out of bed crying as he hit his head on the bedside table.

Of course there is blood but he was cushioned a little by our comforter. Once I get it to stop there is a 1/2 inch cut, but not deep. I think I need to take him to the ER to have it glued shut, BUT I would have to take all 3 kids with me. Doesn't that sound like fun? I called my friend Sophie and left her a message. I called NHS direct and they of course thought he should be checked out just in case. Sophie, thank heavens, calls me back and offers to watch Harrison and Lily.

I knew Harrison would be thrilled as there are 2 other boys at her house ages 20 months and 3 years old. I also knew Lily would not think this was a great idea initially at least. I decided to try it out. I left them at 10am. After taking a taxi to the ER we were finished by 12:15pm with a super glued cut on his head. No permanent damage done and OIiver was very very Brave YET AGAIN! Harrison and Lily had a great time building and playing in their garden. She still wanted Sophie to pick her up even after I returned with Oliver. Yeah! I was quite thankful.

Oliver has no fears of the ER. After he fell and he was calmed Oliver said, " I guess we have to call a taxi and go to the doctor again" with a BIG sigh.

They all are taking a nap this afternoon after this morning's ordeal. Below are photos of Oliver afterwards outside the ER. I thought after all our trips there the building was photo worthy. I am ready for Michael's return home tonight.

  1. Oh, Sarah! Can't believe how many times you've been to the ER. They probably know you by name when they see you walk in! :) How much longer are your parents there, and when do you come home? Take care...
