My folks have FINALLY arrived. Their plane arrived yesterday morning. They flew from Atlanta to Manchester and upon take off the cabin erupted into applause. COme to find out the volcano in Iceland had erupted again that night and airports in Ireland and Scotland had closed, so there was fear of airport closing in the UK as well. I guess the flight plan had to be rerouted to take a more southern route. For about 1 week my folks were not going to come, but one week later after they had gotten a refund on their tickets they discovered they would be able to come. They came one day earlier than previously anticipated, so if the airports had closed they may have been delayed a few more days. It is nice to see GOD's presence in our lives.
We walked to town this morning, which wore everyone out allowing for an afternoon nap for all. We also made our daily trek to the park to show Grandma and Grandpa the Zip Line and the rest of the playground. The kids were so excited to see their grandparents and Lily warmed up to Grandma quickly and about 2 hours later she warmed up to Grandpa. Oliver is especially attached to Grandma. I went up to get him from his nap and he told me he wanted Grandma to come get him. Very sweet.
I feel so blessed that my folks are able and willing to come and spend time in the UK with my family. MIchael and I have been working really well as a team. He has been able to spend most evenings and mornings at home with the family and every weekend, which is a REALLY REALLY nice change. We have adapted well over the past 6 weeks, but it is so nice to have the extra support of my folks which allows Michael more flexibility to travel for work.
I'm sure the kids will enjoy having Grandma & Grandpa there, as much as they will have fun being there. Maybe you & Michael will even be able to slip away for a date night. Tell your Mom & Dad I said "Hi"!
